While researching more interesting games to add to my list of PS1 era game releases that I somehow still missed after more than 350 entries, I did come upon the name Die by the Sword.
Which I think I have not thought about in over 25 years, but immediately brought a strong sense of recognition.
I had to look up footage and I have no memories of this. And while the gameplay looks repetitive, damn, this game looks and sounds badass!
In the late #1990s, *if* a game appeared trying something new, it a rare occurrence worth celebrating. It was an awful time of formulaic conformism. Turning this around, there was no guarantee that all experimental games were successful. At least, however, it *does* make a look at #DieByTheSword worthwhile.
