Gotta say it smoothed the rough edges, pleasantly oaky and not so much bite. Not the perfect plan but worth the rescue.

Lots of oak on this one, medium bodied with a sharp edge to the finish. Notes of chocolate and coffee. Ok but not a repeat.

My latest article for the local paper talks about #Kernza, a newish, processed grain derived from a perennial intermediate wheatgrass, and its use in brewing — specifically, in two new beers from #DeschutesBrewery, Kernza Lager and #NonAlcoholic Kernza Golden Brew. For the article I focused on the non-alcoholic brew, the first certified organic NA #beer in the country.

Medium body with a roasty lead, woody barrel notes, a bit of coffee and chocolate, and a slight bitter finish. Ready for fall!
