The debut album from Ukrainian one-man act Këkht Aräkh turns out to be a unique and paradoxical creature: at once aggressive and harsh. The lyrics are also notable in their dark romantic Gothic imagery: they are filled with longing and love, even desire, and melancholy and pain. An intriguing niche of blackened romance, in which the music will become as alluring and as complex as its darkly beautiful subject matter.

Këkht Aräkh - Morning Star
Not sure why Këkht gets such polarizing reviews. Morning is a highly melodic and atmospheric black metal album that matures his signature "bedroom" blackgaze sound, blending raw, shrieking black metal with somber, romantic folk ballads. This release features improved production, featuring dreamy, lo-fi textures and a heavy focus on melancholic melodies, can’t wait till the vinyl arrives at my doorstep.
