One of those difficult English words, perhaps made more difficult by being American:
"Chair James Comer previously said that the committee can’t depose Trump because he is a sitting president."
Of course only a sitting President, or King, or tyrant can be deposed.
One cannot #depose one who is not #sitting.
Taking a statement, or apparently a deposition - depositing information I suppose - is another matter.
