Last week trump's Department of Energy ordered Sable Petroleum to restart offshore oil production off the central coast of California. Its pipelines run through state land, including a park still recovering from a 2015 oil spill. The Texas company defied an existing California injunction, and resumed production over the weekend. Today a judge upheld the injunction. County of Santa Barbara will press criminal charges against Sable.
