Olemme siirtyneet maailmaan, jossa valta ja vaikuttavuus syrjäyttävät tietoa ja totuutta. Osin uusiin mytologioihin voi suhtautua olankohautuksella, mutta se ei ole enää kovin mahdollista, sillä valheet ja salajuonet kulkutuvat yhteiskunnan ytimeen: luottamukseen ja demokratiaan. Ilmastonmuutoksen kieltäminen, holokaustin kyseenalaistaminen, kuulentojen mitätöinti... Tämä tuntuu muistuttavan siitä, että kaikkein suurimmat valheet uppoavat yleisöön kaikkein parhaiten. Tietokirjailija Hannu Sokala on koonnut kirjaansa aikamme vaarallisimpia valheita. Toive on, että edes jotkut alkaisivat taas käyttää järkeään.

Not a good look RCMP. But it sounds like in the main, they handled the situation ok even if they ran cover for a horrendous elected racist in Dallas Brodie.

Bravo to the people at UBC for making it clear that the agent-provocateur and hate-speech politician has no place, has no voice for her hateful rhetoric.

Residential school denialism *should* be a hate crime. The RCMP should be arresting Brodie, not protecting her hate propaganda tour.

Our Universities must be places of truth. Truths can be debated in context, but Brodie, like Charlie Kirk, isn't actually debating. No minds are going to be changed. No resolution found.

Dallas Brodie is only there to grab a headline and advance an extremist, regressive, and openly white supremacist agenda by advancing denialist views that dismiss truth and facts and calling it “anti-woke”.

i had the misfortune of being on X today and seeing Terry Glavin going on about a (paywalled) Blacklock report about a FOI request to the Canadian Gov that featured redacted information...

and a subsequent admonishment from the FOI ombudsman for keeping too much secret..... which anyone who has done even one FOI (i have done several) knows is par for the course....

but Terry, and Blacklock apparently, insist ThiS ProVes DA ChIEfs ARE LYING ABOUT DA Kids GraVES

Why are racists like Terry allowed to.....
