Debian Lomiri Tablets 2025-2027 - Project Report (Q4/2025)

"On 25th Oct 2025, I announced via my personal blog and on Mastodon that Fre(i)e Software GmbH was hiring. The hiring process was a mix of asking developers I know and waiting for new people to apply.

At the beginning of November 2025 / in mid November 2025, we started with 13 developers (all part-time) to work on various topics around Lomiri (upstream and downstream).

Note that the below achievements don't document the overall activity in the Lomiri project, but that part that our team at Fre(i)e Software GmbH contributed to."

Version 2.43.0 of DeltaTouch is rolling out, bringing an often requested feature to select more than one attachment for sending.

Note for Ubuntu Touch users: In previous versions, we missed to disable debug logging of notifications. This means that the start of message texts along with the displayed name of the chat/contact have been written to the syslog. If you took some measures, like encryption or (auto)deletion of messages, to protect your data in case your device was stolen or lost, the protection has been subverted. To recover, you can clean the log after updating the app. The following command will erase the (complete, not only DeltaTouch related) log:
sudo journalctl --user --rotate --vacuum-time=1s

This info will appear on all affected devices, too.

Version 2.25.0 is available in the OpenStore and as snap 🎉

We're inching closer to feature parity with the official apps as this release brings the "Apps & Media" overview for chats and contacts that has been missing so far. As a special treat, packages for #UbuntuTouch 16.04 (xenial) have been prepared. The OpenStore does not accept updates for UT xenial anymore, get the xenial update from https://codeberg.org/lk108/deltatouch/releases/tag/v2.25.0-xenial instead.
