Tuariki Delamere began his political career with National then became a NZ First MP before the term became synonymous with corruption.

He was a Minister of Immigration under Shipley (1996-99) then set up as an immigration advisor. In 2005, Delamere spent four weeks on trial for fraud, but a jury found him not guilty of all charges.

Delamere bounces between parties, rejoined National in 2000, then went to TOP in 2023.

But misappropriating a client's half mill was the last straw. He's just been adjudged bankrupt, plus he's lost his license to act as an immigration adviser.
