Decaturish is reporting a company is seeking a special zoning permit to build a million sqft #DataCenter in a Bouldercrest (southeast #Atlanta / southewest #DekalbCountyGA) residential zone. The company claims residential is justified because a data center is a utility structure (like a small power substation, iiuc). I'll be contacting my county reps; I hope other Dekalb folks do to.

Please boost around ATL.

“The priority areas are predominantly white, while the non-priority areas are home to the largest concentration of Black residents in Georgia, according to DeKalb Water Watch.”

I knew the water situation in DeKalb is dire, but I didn’t know it was this messy.

I encountered this neat #CitizenScience thing on my #run today that lets you help monitor natural environments. A bracket is set up facing an area to monitor. Passers-by put their smartphone in the bracket and shoot a photo, and then email it to the address provided. It is then incorporated into a #timelapse. Can be used to track #erosion or #InvasiveSpecies of plants or whatever. Very cool. #DekalbCountyGA #DekalbGA #MasonMillPark #Chronolog #SeenOnMyRun https://www.chronolog.io/site/MMP103
