I’ve just finished Pearl S. Buck’s “The Good Earth,” and I’m seeking recommendations on similar books, from Asian writers.
I enjoyed the book, and I’m glad I read it, but I couldn’t forget that it was written by the daughter of white missionaries and not someone who knew the land and its ways as she never could.
I’m reading more classics, but it’s important to me that I seek out voices beyond dead white people, no matter how well-regarded the novel.
