Speaking tomorrow (Thursday) at #declarativeAmsterdam and i hope to host a lively discussion too..

In twenty years, in ten years, next week some time, will the ideas behind declarative markup be forgotten? If so, who will keep the iron wheels turning in the mineshafts of technology?
What must we record, write down, vlog, so that people who come after us can keep the system working, let alone make new systems?
Today I am traveling from Berlin to Amsterdam to attend and present at #DeclarativeAmsterdam #DA2025
The direct connecting trains were recently upgraded from IR to ICE. Looking forward to a smooth journey.

Those of you lucky enough to be going to #declarativeAmsterdam will get to see this picture used in a talk i’m giving - who will maintain XML systems when we have all retired?

“oil is certainly not more necessary for machinery than for the comfortable and easy working of the complex and wonderful framework of our moral nature.”
I’m on the program at https://declarative.amsterdam to speak about - to discuss with the audience - what we can do... when xml people are retiring / are gone, and systems must be maintained.
I'm thinking of attending Declarative Amsterdam in November: anyone else from the fedi also going?
@timbray this feels like part of a much wider conversation about ongoing maintenance of open source software.

On our way home from #MarkupUK! We had a great time—inspiring talks, cool ideas, and great conversations. Huge thanks to the organizers for a top-notch event.
See you at #DeclarativeAmsterdam or next year at #XMLPrague! #eXistdb
