Stessa sorte per il suo commilitone che lo filmava mentre con un martello colpiva l’icona.
L’indagine interna si è conclusa lunedì sera rivelando che il fatto è stato compiuto nell’ambito di un’operazione nel villaggio cristiano di Debel, nel Libano meridionale. Mentre il soldato colpiva la statua di Gesù crocifisso erano presenti altri sei militari israeliani che non sono intervenuti per fermarlo. Tutti e sei sono stati convocati per un colloquio conoscitivo che deve però ancora svolgersi. Solo dopo le delegazioni di comando decideranno se e quali provvedimenti adottare nei loro confronti.
L’ufficio del portavoce dell’esercito ha dichiarato che l’Idf esprime profondo rammarico per l’accaduto e sottolinea che l’attività in Libano è diretta contro Hezbollah e altri elementi terroristici, non contro i cittadini libanesi.
