@RomanticIsa I am not trying to convince you to resume it again, I just feel like telling you that there's a reason why the ML is horrible. He has his baggage of childhood trauma too. The first episodes personally I didn't get why the ML would like that obnoxious and princess-like attitude of the FL ๐Ÿ˜‚. Funny how we react differently to the same #kdrama

I didn't expect it to be so good. If you liked #ItSOkNotYoBeOk this #kdrama might be for you.

There's no dark fairytailish take, but mental disorders and traumas are well depicted. And the romance is beautifully done too!

#ShinHyeSun is becoming one of my favorite Korean actresses. She really nailed the double personality and the portrayal of the pain she went through.

#WhatIf #DearHaeri (๋‚˜์˜ ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์—๊ฒŒ)

Imagine if it was Eunho who truly "disappeared," handing the reins over to HAEri. In their shared diary, what if Eunho left instructions, letting HAEri live as her, memories and all? Perhaps during their so-called "vacation," they worked on mergingโ€”two identities intertwining into one where HAEri takes control.

So, both live on, their personalities unified. The shift to a positive outlook feels natural; HAEriโ€™s positivity shines through as Eunhoโ€™s more shadowed side lingers faintly. Not two minds battling, but one whole person embracing and balancing both parts.

Itโ€™s fascinating, reallyโ€”a subtle analogy for the two Koreas, possibly hinting at peace through integration. What if Eunho and HAEriโ€™s "unification" is symbolic, a blend of identities showing a path to unity and coexistence?

Dear Hyeri 1x08 "Episode 8" review by Yohan Yukiya Seseใ†์‚ฌ์š”ํ•œใƒป่ฌ้›ช็Ÿข

This is so funny. Near the end of the E08, they all switched from "Haeri" to "Hyeri" while retaining the title as "Haeri". Instead of correcting the Romanization of some North American OTT service that called it "Dear Hyeri", they changed their filming. :type_4:โ€โ™‚ However, they forgot to change the Hangeul title of their show. You'll see the difference when they shot the diary title Eun Ho has written, it was "Hyeri" and immediately after that they showed the title of the show as "Haeri". You'll even hear them say the new name "Hyeri" when they were originally saying "Haeri" since E01. :type_4:โ€โ™‚ If you want to justify the incorrect Romanization of some North American OTT service, you should go all out by updating the show's title in Hangeul as well. The diary is "Hyeri" and the title is "Haeri". ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹ I'm sorry but you just killed all logic and sense of the character and the show. Now the character has no connection to Dissociative Identity Disorder as it is written in Hangeul: ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์„ฑ ์ •์ฒด์„ฑ ์žฅ์•  = "Haeri". It was very good writing, but just because of the Romanization mistake of some North American OTT service, they chose to "Dissociate" the "Identity" of the character from ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์„ฑ ์ •์ฒด์„ฑ ์žฅ์•  (DID) and create a "Disorder" in the story. :type_4:โ€โ™‚:type_4:โ€โ™‚

Dear Hyeri review by Yohan Yukiya Seseใ†์‚ฌ์š”ํ•œใƒป่ฌ้›ช็Ÿข

Did you know? 1. The correct English title is "Dear Haeri" or "To My Haeri" or "My Dear Haeri"? 2. The character's name is "Haeri" and not "Hyeri"? Details: * Korean title: ๋‚˜์˜ ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์—๊ฒŒ (naeui haeriege) * Dissociative Identity Disorder: ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์„ฑ ์ •์ฒด์„ฑ ์žฅ์•  (haeriseong jeongcheseong jangae) The artistic connections you are missing by using the incorrect "Hyeri": 1. The name of the character, "Haeri" is in the show's title. 2. The name of the character, "Haeri" is in the Korean translation of DID. 3. The character is a second personality of Eunho. 4. Eunho will more likely start to struggle with Haeri and attempt to communicate with her, and possibly learn to appreciate her as well. Hence, "๋‚˜์˜ ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์—๊ฒŒ" (Dear Haeri). It's a play on words, and it is artistic. It is a disservice to the author's artistic creativity to rename the character as "Hyeri" and to use "Dear Hyeri". It, "Hyeri", is also completely disconnected from the author's work. What happened? * Someone (North American OTT service more likely) made a mistake in transliterating the character name and title to "Hyeri". They more likely have a small font so they got confused. * Everyone else copied the wrong title without doing their due diligence. * To add fuel to misinformation, fan-made "English" posters started to show up and used in various databases. * The incorrect English title and posters reached the Korean producers, and they started using it as well. (We can't blame them, English is not their strong suit, and they generally don't care about the Romanization of Korean. They more likely just assumed what they saw as the "English" title and posters are correct.) If you think that was itโ€ฆ 1. Fans were already talking about the show for months. They all got it correctly as "Haeri". 2. Online translations, most especially Naver Papago, all Romanized it as "Haeri". 3. "Hyeri" is harder for non-Asians to pronounce than "Haeri". Artistic license? Because "Haeri" is hard to pronounce so they replaced it with an even harder "Hyeri"? It doesn't makes any sense, right? Let's say both are equally hard to pronounce. If they'll use the "artistic license" reasoning, why did they not come up with "Dear Hailee"? You know, Haeri -> Haeli -> Hailee. Don't tell me "Hailee Steinfeld"'s name is harder to pronounce than "Haeri" and "Hyeri"! Oh. Hey, if you haven't noticed it yet, the name of the character being "Haeri" adds a depth to the story and the character. Did you see the connection of her name being "Haeri" as explained earlier? It doesn't exist in "Hyeri". I know who Haeri is, but who is Hyeri? The nail: * ํ•ด๋ฆฌ = haeri * ํ˜œ๋ฆฌ = hyeri * ๋‚˜์˜ ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์—๊ฒŒ = naeui haeriege * ๋‚˜์˜ ํ˜œ๋ฆฌ์—๊ฒŒ = naeui hyeriege * ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์„ฑ ์ •์ฒด์„ฑ ์žฅ์•  = haeriseong jeongcheseong jangae (Dissociative Identity Disorder) * ํ˜œ๋ฆฌ์„ฑ ์ •์ฒด์„ฑ ์žฅ์•  = hyeriseong jeongcheseong jangae (Hyerythrotic Identity Disorder) Anyone knows what "Hyerythrotic Identity Disorder" is? Now you know!

Whoever made the mistake on #Romanization of ํ•ด๋ฆฌ in ยซ๋‚˜์˜ ํ•ด๋ฆฌ์—๊ฒŒยป ( #DearHaeri ) should take responsibility for the spread of the wrong Romanization.

"ํ•ด๋ฆฌ" is "Haeri", NOT "Hyeri" both in Revised Romanization & McCuneโ€“Reischauer.

"Hyeri" is written as "ํ˜œ๋ฆฌ" which is NOT in title and not the character's name. It can be heard clearly as "ํ•ด๋ฆฌ" ("Haeri").

Even Naver Papago and Google Translate Romanize "ํ•ด" as "Hae" clearly different from "ํ˜œ" ("Hye").
