By “megamall” I assume you mean when they added Fairview's 2nd story when it turned 20. I left town that year so most of my mall memories are pre-enshittification when it was still nice. :) I am amazed that CF has managed, seemingly, to avoid the #deadmall stench there despite the old anchors all being dead.

Apparently The Boxyard is closing this week. Who knew trying to make a shopping mall out if shipping containers would make for weirdly small shops in buildings that are weirdly expensive to maintain?

I got the chance to visit a dead mall yesterday. It was kind of depressing to see how such a big building can be left alone like that. Although I never got to see it in its prime, I can tell it holds lots of happy memories for people.
