Dead Gowns is the project/moniker of singer-songwriter Geneviève Beaudoin of Portland (Maine), whose music comes with a wistful, romantic sound and an introspective feel. Occasionally she brings an overt rock edge through her band's presentation. Even in those moments, though, her delivery, pacing, and the sense of vulnerability she projects through her voice (shades of Kristine Leschper, to some extent) hint at a quiet intensity lying underneath.
