First time now I heard of the Doomsday Rule, an easy way to know the week day for any date:

The dates 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10, 12/12, as well as 9/5, 5/9, 11/7, 7/11 are all on the same day of the week in a year. That day of the week can be calculated easily for each year (this year: Friday, next year: Saturday).
