🐦‍⬛🎶 Dawn Chorus Day 🎶🐦‍⬛

☕️ Blackbird Coffee are expected at their usual spot near the lake bridge ready to serve hot drinks.

I heard the start of #DawnChorusDay shortly after 4 am. 🐦🐦

I was trying to find a less uncomfortable position to lie or sit in bed due to a bad back. 😣

It was a spring without voices. On the mornings that had once throbbed with the dawn chorus of robins, catbirds, doves, jays, wrens, and scores of other bird voices there was now no sound; only silence lay over the fields and woods and marsh... Even the streams were now lifeless...

No witchcraft, no enemy action had silenced the rebirth of new life in this stricken world. The people had done it themselves.

#DawnChorusDay

Sing on sweet thrush, upon the leafless bough,
Sing on sweet bird, listen to thy strain,
And aged winter, mid his early reign,
At thy blythe carol, clears his furrowed brow.’
Robert Burns

@megjlow what a timely surprise on #DawnChorusDay 🐣

A daybreak moment in the mist this morning. @aimeerivers tells me it's #DawnChorusDay today, and I hadn't even realised! Serendipity :)
