Cash and Carry, by David Sedaris
"I guessed correctly that the woman had found this cabinet on the curb, just as I had found my current desk chair and countless pieces of furniture in the past."

I read #GeorgeSaunders' collection of short stories, Liberation Day (Bloomsbury), in 2023. I recall vividly Love Letter, in which a grandfather writes a letter to his grandson during a time set in the future, but eerily familiar. I heard #DavidSedaris read the story on #TheNewYorker Fiction podcast yesterday. Now I know why it was so "eerily familiar"! 😟

It seems reading is currently a thing I do to get to sleep or wake up. But that's a good start when I couldn't read books post-covid.
David Sedaris writes books that are pleasant, humourous and relaxing to read. He basically exaggerates his life. I read this because I found it in our house.
- David Sedaris meets Pope Francis -
The Hem of His Garment
'I thought that the e-mailed invitation was spam. “Nice try, Russia,” I said to my laptop screen. But the Pope really did want to meet with comics and humorists.'
