I hate to belabour the point… well, actually, no I don’t. But to put some perspective into Senator #DavidPocock defeated motion to set up a Senate Committee to take a look at #GasExports, here is an interesting article from The Point (Australian Institute) that should have been tabled in the Senate along with the motion (can you do that in the Senate? I don’t know) talking about: ‘New analysis shows Japan is emerging as a major player in global gas trading, despite producing no liquefied natural gas of its own – and it’s all thanks to Australia.’

Japan’s rise as an LNG trader driven by resale of cheap Australian gas, reigniting calls for gas export tax

New analysis shows Japan is emerging as a major player in global gas trading, despite producing no liquefied natural gas of its own – and it’s all thanks to Australia.

According to the Australian Institute:
'latest polling shows Labor, Coalition, Greens and One Nation voters all support a 25% tax on gas exports.'

I guess that #AlboPM jammed tight against a decision wall that he doesn't seem to want to breach. Will the Libs and Nats pick it up or will they also man the ramparts and defend the indefensible?
