I just updated my standard data storage stack for transport and archival . Earlier I used 7-zip basically for everything. But now I’ve switched to more modern stack, files are now ###.tar.zst.age yeah, tar + Zstandard compression + age encryption. And in case it’s something really important then there is par2 on top of that. #datastorage #dataarchival #compression #encryption

Anyone know offhand what format filename a Strava export has? I closed my account many years ago and I've no idea what I've done with the download. But if it's a standard(ish) type of filename, I can find it with, uh, find and locate and whatnots.

(I can't remember my user ID, sadly, if that's part of the filename, but I'm hoping it mentions Strava or something...)

What's the path of least resistance to archive reddit.com threads that are somehow still online?
I've seen that web.archive.org and archive.is can get blocked by reddit's bot detection, and even if not, they don't archive all the permalinks to nested comments etc.

None of the crappy USB ones ever work correctly as they try to abstract too much somehow.

Hey everyone, by some stroke of luck the Spotpass servers for the Wii U and 3DS were not yet shutdown so it is still possible to obtain and submit archives.

If you have a Wii U or 3DS I highly encourage you to follow the guide on this site to submit dumps.
Even if you don't please spread the word so we can get as many dumps as possible and save as much content as we can (boosts are very helpful and much appreciated).

Sometime back in (I think) 2000, I picked up a bootleg CD labeled "Photoshop Plugin Essentials". This is a mass archive of 16- and 32-bit Photoshop plugins, mostly scene rips. No real sorting so you'll have to dig through it yourself, but I've found a couple neat ones in there. A good number of them will also work in Paint Shop Pro.
