🇮🇪🏗️🚄 #DART services are set to be extended to Kilcock in Co #Kildare, #Ireland, as part of the DART+ Programme, with Iarnród Éireann launching a public consultation on a new depot proposed west of the town. The depot, identified after a review of 50 potential sites across the Greater Dublin Area, would support an expanded fleet of up to 750 DART carriages and is targeted for completion in 2031, subject to approvals.

The extension would significantly increase rail capacity at Kilcock, where services currently run nine times each way daily. #Infrastructure would allow DART trains to operate up to every 10 minutes during peak periods while maintaining Intercity stops. Plans also include upgrades to Kilcock station, a second track between Maynooth and Kilcock, a new platform and improved accessibility. The project forms part of a wider programme to electrify and expand the rail network.
