Today is #DarkMatterDay, and you know what's ironic about that?

The day itself is perfectly named as a day acknowledging dark matter, (although events involving this often take place near, but not on, that date, which is another irony altogether!), but "dark matter" is not.

Happy #DarkMatterDay! * Today we celebrate the enduring mystery of what composes 85% of the matter in the universe.

Matter is just stuff. I'm stuff. You're stuff. We're made of smaller stuff. The smallest bits of stuff are what we call "normal matter". Emits light**. Absorbs light**.

Normal stuff is only 15% of all stuff.

Dark matter is not normal. Insensitive to light. Abnormal.

BUT. IT'S. EVERYWHERE.
