I’m considering a donations button on some of my educational projects. I no longer have a business, so it’s on a personal level. However, the Dutch Tikkie requires a business account. International options ask for Stripe or Paypal accounts, which I’m trying to avoid. Any suggestions?

I found an interesting note taking program called AnyType (Swiss made). It looks great. Does anyone know it? I can't find a place to configure where to put the vault's location, it only shows me a default.

Well. Never too old to learn.

So I have learned that the military uses the following order:
- Strategy
- Operational
- Tactical

Whereas I am only familiar with:
- Strategy
- Tactical
- Operational

Who has a good read on how the military uses their "version" of this order and why?

Because due to my only experience with my version I find it a bit difficult to understand.

#DareToAsk N00b help needed with my Waterfox browser

I had been using Firefox for a long time, but it started to get some issues with certain sites. I *think* that it may be due to several of the add-ons and/or standard privacy options, but.. I have absolutely no idea how to fix these things properly. The only thing I could do now, was use the Edge browser (shudder), which allowed me to do what I wanted to do.

I know that the apps I use may not be everyone's cup of tea. But, due to my brain doing things in its own way, I struggle to find better options, that have at least what I need (or more) for the same price or less... Please don't judge me for using some of these apps... I know... 😔

But... With both Firefox and now Waterfox, I had been having issues with Flickr for a while now. Often, I would need to reload the page in order to be able to click on the pictures to open them. And, when I tried to add descriptions, they would sometimes not be saved the first time I tried, like the page had to reload again before it would cooperate. I tried the page in Edge, and... No issues at all...

I want to add descriptions and alt texts to my images, ever since the Fedi taught me how important these texts are. But, due to my silly brain (again), I find it incredibly hard to write decent text myself. I had been using altbot on the Fedi for a while, but, as I started to work my way through old vacation snaps, I switched to AI, as it could also help me remember where my old photos had been taken. My memory used to be good, but since the fibro and cPTSD started giving me bad brain fogs, I seem to have forgotten so much... So, for me, AI was a blessing for that. I was able to recover some memories... I know people are against AI, but for me, there are two little helpful things it offes.

But, to be able to create the at texts and/or descriptions, I need to upload the image to the chatbot. And, with the Fox' browsers, it keeps failing. The Edge browser has no such issues. So, I fear that I may need to tinker with some of the Fox settings, so that I can use that again, instead of the Microsoft stuff. I have some add-ons, the basic ones that the browser recommended when installing. They're all on the "standard" settings, as I am a n00b and don't want to breal anything...

I would like the sites of Gemini and Flickr to work properly in Waterfox. I don't want to open up all the bits, but just enough to be able to use those two sites for my intentions. I use a VPN, Avast virus protection, and some anti-tracker bit from Avast. So, opening up the bits needed for these two sites should hopefully not open up everything else. And, while I had to use Edge, I guess it was open already anyway, or it would not have worked in that browser as well.

Sorry, LOADS of babbling. Autistic me wants to share *all* the details. But my question is: is there a simple way for me to get these two sites to properly work in Waterfox, so that I can play around with my images again without needing to use Edge??? I would say, tell me like a 5-year old, but I'm afraid a 5-year old would have this solved before I even booted up Waterfox 😂
