Continuing our journey through the epic Fedi-sourced catalogue of must-hear albums, our next spotlight is on number 660 on The List, submitted by platenworm. The album we look at here was one of Johnston’s self-recorded and self-distributed cassette albums, released nearly a decade before Kurt Cobain indirectly brought Johnston into the spotlight with his t-shirt featuring the artwork from Johnston’s next album of the same year, Hi, How Are You. The is the first of his albums to include chord organ, which adds to his already signature charming style. It also has the first appearance of "Casper the Friendly Ghost", which Johnston would rerecord a few times. 👻
