Bob JonkmanHi #SmallEngine Fediverse: Dad bought a riding mower, used it for one season before he died a year ago. I'm cleaning out the garden shed, but can't start the engine. Charged the battery overnight, and the starter turned over making a rattly noise. Thought maybe the battery was almost dead & wouldn't hold a charge so I hooked it up to my car battery with jumper cables, but the starter wouldn't even turn over. Is the mower completely dead? What can I try next?
