In 2006, the drawings…came to the attention of Sully’s great-nephew, a history professor at Harvard

On #ThisDayInHistory in 1862, a series of illegal military tribunals following the #DakotaWar sentenced 303 surrendered #DakotaSioux warriors to death. Lincoln intervened, and only 38 were hanged, but this is bad enough given this was revenge by a thieving #SettlerColonial power.
