This is really cool.
Combining 2 youtube tutorials for #DaVinchiResolve I was able to take a satelite image, use an elevation heat map to turn that into a 3D map and convert my run GPX file into a animatable path on the map.
I now have full control of the run playback in a 3D environment.
:-)

@shlalon well, you could use #Blavkmagicdesign's #DavinchiResolve on #Linux in conjunction with their hardware...

  • That does work well, it's just really taxing in terms of IOPS and Storage.
@FediFollows or even if tools like @kdenlive ain't fitting, at least consider #OneTimePurchase #CCSS (i.e. #DaVinchiResolve) instead of #enshittified #Subscription-only #SaaS!

@echo_xc It's just what I experienced the last time I tried.

@getimiskon That being said there's nothing wrong using #GIMP and I'd rather use that than to ever give #Adobe or #AVID money.

  • Not to mention #piracy isn't an option in any #commercial setup when courts already decided that using pirated Software will result in the copyrights being de-jure transfered to the Software Licensor in lieu of licensing payments...

So yeah, I do want to see #Linux ports of #Affinity's Suite and #Blackmagicdesign to step up their Support of #DavinchiResolve for Linux outside of #CentOS & #RHEL Workstation and at least on the #paid version get #FeatureParity to the #macOS & #Windows version in terms of #Codecs (or at least implement support for those not subject to #licensing like #AV1, #VP9 / #WebM & #Opus, #Vorbis & #Speex.

#Resolve

@nytpu maybe take a look at #DaVinchiResolve, #iMove / #FinalCut in terms of options, as I'm shure someone using those had already dealt with it.

@ami_angelwings Depends on what you need.

If #Vegas doesn't fulfill your demands, then I'd disrecommend #Kdenlive and #PremiereElements and instead recommend to try #DaVinchiResolve...

Even it's free version is pretty cool and powerful and even if you want to buy the full version, you'd still have a single one-time purchase...

Used #DavinchiResolve the first time for the video of my wive. Its pretty easy - there are many tutorials on YouTube.

Mistakes were made last month, that's for damn sure.
