A Palermo prende forma il programma delle commemorazioni per il 34esimo anniversario della strage di Capaci del 23 maggio 1992, in cui persero la vita il magistrato Giovanni Falcone, la moglie Francesca Morvillo e gli agenti della Polizia di Stato Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo e Antonio Montinaro.
Il tema scelto dalla Fondazione Falcone per il 2026 è “Il segno della rinascita”, un percorso simbolico e culturale che unisce memoria, arte e impegno civile.
Gli Uffizi a Palermo con le opere recuperate dopo la strage dei Georgofili
In collaborazione con le Gallerie degli Uffizi, arriveranno a Palermo alcune importanti opere d’arte recuperate e restaurate dopo l’attentato mafioso di via dei Georgofili a Firenze, avvenuto nella notte tra il 26 e il 27 maggio 1993.
Tra i capolavori esposti figurano “Adorazione del bambino” del pittore olandese Gherardo delle Notti e le opere “I giocatori di carte” e “Concerto” di Bartolomeo Manfredi. Saranno presenti anche copie coeve dei dipinti e opere contemporanee su carta.
La mostra straordinaria sarà ospitata fino al 19 luglio al Museo del presente Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino.
“L’insieme dei dipinti del passato recuperati e le opere di Risarcimento esposti sono uno specchio in cui riflettere l’Italia così come era e come adesso ha l’obbligo di proseguire ad essere, migliore, libera, coraggiosa”, hanno dichiarato Maria Falcone, Vincenzo Di Fresco e Alessandro de Lisi.

In Palermo, a program is taking shape for the commemorations marking the 34th anniversary of the Capaci massacre of May 23, 1992, in which magistrates Giovanni Falcone, Francesca Morvillo, and police officers Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo, and Antonio Montinaro lost their lives.
The theme chosen by the Falcone Foundation for 2026 is “The Sign of Rebirth,” a symbolic and cultural path that unites memory, art, and civic engagement.
The Uffizi in Palermo with artworks recovered after the Georgofili massacre
In collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries, some important artworks recovered and restored after the mafia attack on via dei Georgofili in Florence, which occurred on the night between May 26th and 27th, 1993, will arrive in Palermo.
Among the masterpieces on display are “Adorazione del bambino” by the Dutch painter Gherardo delle Notti and the works “I giocatori di carte” and “Concerto” by Bartolomeo Manfredi. Contemporary copies of the paintings and works on paper will also be present.
The extraordinary exhibition will be hosted until July 19th at the Museo del presente Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino.
“The collection of paintings from the past recovered and the works of Compensation displayed are a mirror in which to reflect Italy as it was and as it now has the obligation to continue being, better, free, courageous,” stated Maria Falcone, Vincenzo Di Fresco, and Alessandro de Lisi.
