As the night fell and things became quieter a figure moved slowly and deliberately, backlit only by the moon.
They waited patiently in the shadows between sparse street lights until they broke their silence.

Looks like the time to be overrun with eggs has begun. Our whole flock is back on the job this morning, and all 4 ducks have laid an egg. Giving us our first 4 egg day of the season.

The small, white Muscovy duck paid us a visit. He scrounged for seed in the back yard.

Bigger than a domestic duck, but smaller than the previous Muscovy ducks that were around for a while.
