800 km south of København, I took the chance and had a glance at the  ICE L Talgo 230 in Frankfurt.

The German Talgo is almost identical to the Danish one. Whereas I personally prefer the warm colors, the dining car and the well designed children's area of the ICE L Talgo, I prefer the small details of the Danish EC Talgo : The toilets have sliding doors matching the small size of the rest rooms, the sliding doors of the carriages open to both sides and there's a huge, flexible multipurpose compartment at each end of the train allowing storage of large luggage items and bicycles both in first and in second class. The German Talgos seem to have less reliable toilets than the Danish ones. Also the design of the rest rooms in general was better in the Danish version.

The seats are the same model in the  and the  version, solely the color of the fabrics differ. Both trains have reclining seats, power outlets and seat laps in both travel classes.

In general, the Talgo trains seem to be quite adequate mainline trains for #CrossBorderRail. I was surprised how smooth the single axis went on high speed, it was vibrating much less than older Spanish Talgo trains.

I'm looking forwards to seeing them in regular service !

Beautiful sunrise in #Wörth and sleepy trains in foggy #Lauterbourg 🏙️.

Good morning #Karlsruhe 🏙️ ! #DSBTalgo

And one more night train : Southbound by comfortable modernized   couchette comfort compartment bringing me to #Karlsruhe right next to the French border.

Today was definitely an exciting day, apart from the early morning in Malmö, the launch of the amazing new  Talgo 230  EuroCity, I still spent the evening in the #MiWuLa model railway exhibition where I could admire the adorable #H0 replica of #Padborg st in memories to the ICE TD service linking Denmark and Germany using high-speed rail in past.

And as most good travel days : The day ends in a comfortable couchette dreaming me closer to my destination.

Good night Fedi !

@lewd so we need a railjet 2.1 with #DSBTalgo seats!

In good old  manner : We arrived half an hour late in Hamburg.

I absolutely enjoyed the first #DSBTalgo ride and I'm looking forwards to traveling onboard again 🎉 !

Further impressions :

Second class is literally as comfortable as first class, that's an amazing to pgrade compared to the previous IC 1 carriages. The only difference is slightly more space, a cup holder and a foot rest. The seats both in first and in second class are very comfortable.

The offer in the bistro is *very* limited but maybe that's going to still change. There's just coffee, sweets and some crackers.

The bicycle area is much more flexible than in most other high-speed trains : There are both bicycle mounts as well as just broad space to just pile up the bicycles. That should make one or two bicycles more than planned much easier.

The train is level boarding in Germany but somehow DSB managed to order them at a platform height different than in Denmark. That's a bit weird.

At 200 kph, you feel a very constant, soft vibration. The ride is smoother than a TGV but less smooth than a railjet at the same speed.

Question to #BahnBabble ? Is it allowed to call the #DSBTalgo ICE L ?

Both Talgo 230, both same speed, both same comfort, same interior design. Only difference : the ICE L has a full dining car, the DSB EC only has a small bistro.
