Attached: 1 video I am proud to formally release #DNSocial - a minimal decentralized social media protocol for posting and subscribing to feeds directly in DNS. The protocol is simple: - A feed is any domain or subdomain, eg. "posts.example.com" - Post by adding a TXT record to sequential integer subdomains, eg. "1.posts.example.com", "2.posts.example.com" - Subscribe to a feed by continually polling DNS for the next integer subdomain Reference implementation: https://git.jon-e.net/jonny/DNSocial #InfrastructuralShitposts

storage is the next phase of #DNSocial. I think the plan will be to b64 encode it and store it as TXT records in numbered pieces beneath a hash of the file.
eg.
`{1..n}.{:hash}.domain.tld`

then it becomes a p2p protocol where you just DDoS around until you find ones with the correct hash subdomain, and you can request pieces from multiple nameservers and domains in parallel.

implementing relational dbs in DNS is TBD

Oh baby here we go #DNSocial is almost finished. A protocol for truly decentralized social media by posting directly to DNS.

edit: since this post seems to be getting boosted out of my circles, here's a link to the post with a demo and link to the reference implementation: https://social.coop/@jonny/110502237449832040
