DM advice: Not every adventure needs to be a 40+ sessions campaign. Sometimes it's easier for players to accommodate shorter scenarios, lasting anywhere between 3–10 sessions.

Your D&D game is better than not playing D&D at all.

GM advice: Instead of having your monsters just appear, find other ways to have them manifest.

Parts of an armour could be strewn about the room, and coalesce as roots fill them out and take on humanoid shape.

A floating eye may follow the group through a dungeon, with more eyes joining over time. When the 10th eye joins, these fragmented pieces of an aberration's dream coalesce into the form of a Beholder.

DM advice: Attach complications to successes.
