the design I have in mind is thin stiff wire surrounded by heat set plastic. on the back side the wire will stick out of the heat set plastic with a loop to join the bumpers with elastic cord. my source for this wire is a plate hanger. i'll have to look at this in person to decide if the wire is thin enough for my purposes. I already have some slabs of heat set plastic I haven't found a use for yet.
