The new French laws restricting tekno parties are royally absurd. Hard to top John Major's "repetitive beats are a national security threat" line, but this comes close. Free parties need very little, and have a proven record of being safe. The smart thing would be to leave them be. Even smarter: Bring some of that self-help & solidarity back into our day to day lives. But the clowns on top can't think beyond trying to commercialise it, or failing which, killing it.

The only music I've been making recently is practicing trumpet every day.

Until today. I got my studio set up again, which was easy except not noticing the power strip my laptop was plugged into was turned off. It went into low power mode, which it may surprise you to learn is NOT optimal for music production.

Once I noticed the laptop was running on battery, it was smooth sailing.
