On to the next milestone of my z80 based computer. The screen...

Installed the 4MHz oscillator, added independent power and reset controls for both Z80s, and upgraded the variable clock with a new speed control. One step closer to a complete development system.

Working on the power and reset circuitry for my custom Z80 computer. One step closer to bringing this machine to life.

I finally received my power supply breakout PCBs. Only an idiot would forget to mark the positive and negative output. 🫣

It's mirobo Monday!!

I've slowly been working away on some QWIIC things (see what I did there? 😉)!

I made my robots a tiny little VL53L4CD ToF distance sensor module. 🤖

And, I made a matching QWIIC adapter for other I2C devices.

Got a cheap 3018 kit for #diyelectronics pcb milling, Y stepper bad but had spare creality 3dp stepper. No limit/home switches but grbl board so added some. Set up grbl, axis directions and spindle rpm scaling in grbl and bCNC in Linux.
Mounted #3dprinted pcb vice in PLA printed 10+ years ago on my printrbot.
Didnt autolevel, set Z workheight with cigarette rolling paper, and top corner 0.15-0.20mm out.
Came out ok for 1st try. Now autolevelling, pcb vice from alu & beaglebone cnc server.
Every retro computer project needs a grimoire. Mine is a Zenadi Codex binder packed with pinouts and 74xx logic references.

It's freebie Friday!!

I've just shared my new Adapt-2-QWIIC circuit on @PCBWay – it'll pop up after review and join my other shared circuits, here: https://www.pcbway.com/project/member/shareproject/?bmbno=CFD50F93-D0EC-45

Adapt-2-QWIIC is designed to make it easy to connect cheap I2C peripherals using QWIIC cables!
