Gestern Abend hab ich zusammen mit einen Kumpel sein Asterisk Setup debugged, dabei kam die Frage was man denn als SIP <--> DECT Bridge und als SIP <--> POTS Bridge einsetzen mag. Geht um ein privates Setup ca 4 Endpoints), sollte also mäßig Admin-Aufwände erzeugen, sollte nicht super teuer sein, dafür mäßige Availability akzeptabel.

Da ich weniger Ahnung habe als ihr gebe ich die Frage gerne mal weiter

@FuturisticRobert in fact @osmocom has proudly tested their #GSM setups at multiple #C3 events like #ChaosCommunicationCongress and #CCCamp...

  • Tho they obviously have to jump through all the #SpectrumRegulation hurdles not just with @BNetzA but also at least one licensed #MNO and kindly ask them if they could use part of their spectrum for such a test network.

I'm shure @LaF0rge has more details re: said hoops...

  • But yeah, on many events one could get a #SIM and recently even #eSIM|s that work onsite. Which is good because #GSM is way more scalable than #DECT and also having a big number of real users testing a cleanroom implementation of GSM is kinda important...

@littlefoxone There are #DECT phones with vibrators that are setup and toggle-able.

  • #funktel sells these as part of their #industrial & #safety-oriented line of devices as they may be used in extremely noisy envoirments and/or places where an audible ring may be deemed inappropriate/disturbing.

Tho granted you won't be able to buy these at your favorite elextronics retailer, and AFAICT they sell direct-to-(business)-customers only…

Does anyone on the fedi know how to get an analoge phone line to connect to a DECT network?

Im willing to play with a devboard and implement some stuff myself but was unable to find any DECT modem/tranceiver chip available for purchase

Dear #DuckDuckFedi ,

I am planning on replacing my aging #FritzBox with an #OpenWRT or #OPNSense #SBC/#MiniPC.

One thing I'd really miss is its #DECT basestation.

Any ideas on a small-scale #VoIP/#SIP #DECT basestation one might want to score from eBay or similar? It would not have to support concurrent calls, but support for „Full Eco Mode“ as well as solid software support would be nice.

Any #HardwareHacking ideas?
Does converting the existing hardware into one sound feasible?

Sagt mal, welche günstige/simple #SIP #DECT Basisstation habt ihr denn daheim, die auch mit einem Mitel 632d funktioniert?

Ich lasse hier gleich eine Grandstream DP755 retour gehen, die auf dem Papier ganz gut aussah, aber leider keinerlei DHCP Requests oder sonstiges auf dem Netzwerkinterface rausfallen lässt.
