There is a baby in my current novel (of which I have just finished the first draft; it will now need thorough editing and a slight rewrite of the ending before it goes online). She's an important baby. She's single-handedly set up the sequel.

As a result of this, I have worked out that (under the D&D 3.5 rules) one cast of the Prestidigitation cantrip is capable of cleaning up to 6000 terry nappies. Because I needed to know that.

My adorable probably-autistic half-orc broke the College of Heralds yesterday. The party got collectively knighted, so they all had to choose a device and a motto. Darg decided his motto was going to be "I bash evil things".

The heralds pointed out that this was awkward to translate into the old language, and suggested "smite" rather than "bash". Darg didn't want it translated into that. He wanted all the evil things to be able to read it so they knew what to expect. So he was quite happy to have translations underneath it in Orc, Goblin, Giant, Abyssal, and Infernal...

It's not too long, and is kind of interested in a limited way. It was pretty clearly inspired by the (then current) 4th Edition #DandD and is an odd footnote in advertising history.
