@DanMorgan Admiral #Cain of #Pegasus was portrayed beautifully by #MichelleForbes. We should not overlook that both, #Adama and President #Roslyn, wanted #Cain assassinated, just as #Cain wanted #Adama gone. Just shows how brutal and cut throat the politics and power play were in the 12 colonies of #Cyrannus star system.

Makes one wonder about #Adama's speech at the start of the series, where he rhetorically ask whether and humanity is worth saving.

The 13th tribe choose a different path. They settled on the original Earth. The other 12 tribes went to the #Cyrannus system. After their long journey maybe their tech was not in a good shape and had to be abandoned. Due to degradation, stresses, wear and tear that is too be expected, especially on generational journeys. That is one of the reason given against Generational ships. How will the ships regenerate from metal fatigue, use etc. #Galactica could not do it.

@Guy_VO

So when the robots rose up only 5 people could escape from the 13th tribe and travelled at sub-light speed. On the other hand when the same happened in the #Cyrannus system more than 50000 souls were able to escape along with #Galactica and its rag-tag-motely armada. Yeah the 12 tribes paid a very heavy price though, more than 50 billion souls wiped out and scores more left behind. No one knows what happened to the left behinds.

One of the many subplots that #BattleStarGalactica explores is the competition between #SelfAware #AI and #FasterThanLight, i.e. #FTL travel. The 13th tribe discovered AI first and did not manage to invent FTL. The 12 tribes of #Kobol, in the #Cyrannus system, did the reverse. they discovered FTL first and then SelfAware AI. This had implications for both of these tribes but in different manner.

That would be so cooooool. Finding an actual #Cyrannus system with planets that are habitable.
