- create some outlandish layout in stich.withgoogle.com
- split it into components with AgentOS
- & clean up the AI created ui-components (just minor opinionated tweaks, everything worked out straight from the box)
- Actually make it work as it should, instead as it was on the prototype

Oh gawd I've fallen behind on my "Jason reads" posts. Something that was supposed to be a quick thing after reading something ended up being a todo list of items gathering up. Well, I guess it's time to start demolishing that list.

Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface (2005)

I have somehow missed Ghost in the Shell manga, seeing first the film a long time ago, and then several of the follow-ups in the franchise. My first of the manga was "Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-error processor", last year, which I enjoyed a lot. There was the same kind of storyline style as in what I had got used to for this particular setting.

The "Man-Machine Interface" is a change to that. The author writes about the difference to the previous books in the forewords, and the change is very visible. A whole lot more philosophical on another level. I wasn't entirely sold by the direction to be honest, finding myself yearning for more of what was before.

Additionally, while I'm not entirely sure whether this is me imagining it (though wikipedia seems to confirm), the "2.0" volume is way more explicit in terms of unnecessarily (compared to the storyline, imho) drawing female characters in sexual positions, with underwear flashing in way more panels than can be counted. This felt like an unnecessary change to be honest for the franchise in question.

Now, why have I not already read the originals which the anime is based on? I won't write about those separately when I do, trying to keep posts to one for a particular series of books.

Cyberpunk has had quite the public revival in the last few years. But for me it gets mis-labelled as sci-fi rather than horror.

I know the Sprawl trilogy is deep down horrific, but reading it in the 80's it felt so distant, exciting and freeing too.

Now I look at #Cyperpunk as likely and soon.

These are some simple ambient cyber tracks, 90’s cyberpunk mood, distortions, fuzzy nested layers, thinking of the next anti late stage/tech capitalism action.
