Cyclone Michaung | Centre releases ₹450 crore to Tamil Nadu’s disaster response fund
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited flood-affected regions in Chennai and announced the Union govt's release of ₹450 crore to TN's State Disaster Relief Fund. Home Minister Amit Shah also approved of the first urban flood mitigation project with ₹500 crore Central assistance. Mr. Singh assured the people of TN on behalf of PM Modi that the govt is committed to their wellbeing. CM Stalin thanked Mr. Singh and presented a letter detailing the State's demands for ₹5,060 crore interim relief. He said the situation was returning to normalcy with all possible efforts.
