Articles explains the 3 types of E-bike categories, which defined the amount of power & how the power can be used. Category 1 has a max speed of 20mph & is pedal assist. Pedal assist means you must be pedaling before the power helps you pedal. Category 2 Is the same speed but power can be activated by throttle. Oregon is flirting with creating an E-Bike rebate program joining VT & Denver CO, NY is also thinking about it. E-bike rebate programs are great to reduce traffic, clean the air & get citizens outdoors to exercise. It also provides transportation for a large group of people who might not have access to transportation, except public transit.
