Seigel-Boettner has been coordinating the local chapter of Cycling Without Age (CWA) since 2019.
Effortlessly charming and fit at 70, he gives rides at least twice a week, calling his riders “riding partners” to emphasize companionship.
Picked up a bike today because the brakes were catching.
As we talked, he mentioned his wife couldn’t ride just now — she’d had a C-section. I asked about the baby.
He said quietly, “We don’t have one. She died at birth.”
They’re getting the bikes fixed to try to keep their minds off it.
