we need to understand people, yes
sometimes we see how they are a victim as well
but sometimes that understanding means seeing a true villain

The process starts in childhood and the rhetoric justifying it is rooted in the rhetoric used to justify violence against children. I wish so badly we could just go back to living in villages and in conditions we were evolved for again so it doesn't happen anymore.

I think a lot about the way society is structured on a social and psychological level, and it makes me so sad.
Children are beaten, denied love, emotionally and spiritually driven into the ground and the mindset behind doing that -- the convenience of bullies who call themselves adults -- is used to justify the social hierarchy that traps us when we eventually get away. Children are considered property for adults to freely take their issues out on and not members of the community who need care.
Parents are denied help to raise their kids, and are threatened by other adults who are extremely selfish and immature whenever their kids cry, which convinces them to use violence and emotional abuse to stop the kids annoying others who are supposed to be taking responsibility helping the parents look after the kids in the first place.
And so people live their lives with this idea other people are either property or threats to be kept at arm's length because that's how people treat each other, and then they wonder why people are mentally dropping out -- not having kids, planning on buying land and exiting society completely, that sort of thing.
None of us want the monstrous hierarchy of abuse we have been chained to and we will break it, even if it means adults have to suffer the inconvenience of screaming kids, and even if it means giving a struggling adult free stuff and free babysitting. You can always comfort a crying child. You can always help out a struggling parent. You can't fix broken versions of either.
So much suffering like this happens because we do not live in villages anymore where people can be trusted and they have a vested interest in looking out for one another. Instead, other humans are nasty, selfish, entitled, threats to our safety and society is wholly to blame for that.
