@robinince Very good piece. I agree that people should try writing and not be put off by what 'some' people say. Its not just about the audience, but it is also about the poet wrestling a muddled ball of thoughts and emotions into order, for therapy, contemplation and expressing feelings. Poems need to be written, and if they are read, thats an added bonus. I write poems for my mental health, helping condense a lot of emotions my autistic brain struggles to process into words I can put down and file away outside my head. Power to the poets, and down with those restricting art, culture and expression.
