Cultural gems turns four : bringing forward objectives of the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

Cultural gems is an online application launched in 2018 as legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage with an aim to foster people's engagement with European cultural heritage and to promote local culture and creativity (European Commission, 2019). The European Year of Cultural Heritage aimed “to reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space, with the slogan. ‘Our heritage: where the past meets the future’” (European Commission, 2018). This slogan was embodied by Cultural gems creating a digital common space where people can share information about their past and the past of European places they live in.
