My childhood best friend probably kept me sane. We talked for hours about how we felt and what we thought on every topic we knew of. My mother's second husband was a misogynist and a bigot. I couldn't safely talk about how I felt about anything in his house. Sometimes I want to contact her to tell her how much she meant to me, but she's a tradwife to man who's probably a MAGAt now.
