Dr. Jim EllsworthI reach a pretty similar conclusion by a completely different route: #MAGAts are NOT a unified political movement with a set ideology (other than #MuhLibruhlTears); they're a fractious coalition of Hillary Clinton's various "baskets of deplorables" (racists, homophobes, antisemites, 'Christian' nationalists, antivaxxers, antigovernment nutcases like the Bundys, #CuckooForQAnon, redpilled #IncelQaida misogynists, etc.) WHO OFTEN HATE EACH OTHER ALMOST AS MUCH AS THEY HATE US.
And the #Donjjal is all that unified them.
To use the OP's example of Reichsleiter Vance, the racists and white nationalists in the coalition LOATHE him because to them he's a 'race traitor' for marrying and 'breeding' a non-white. They'd string him up by the balls, given half a chance. Similarly, there are factions of the 'Christian' nationalists who hate the antisemites because 'Jesus was a Jew,' and hate the redpills because God made man & woman helpmates to one another, and they suspect most incels are closet gays. π
Its far from a certainty, of course, but MY bet is that if #DementiaDonOld's cheeseburger diet catches up with him, MAGA dissolves into warring cliques, each trying to shiv the others for THEIR shot at glory.
And WE need to be prepared to exploit the HELL outta this....

The entire reason Trump won is because he managed to energize a disaffected base of eligible voters that previously didn't give a shit about politics because they're too fucking stupid to educate themselves. Now, these people didn't just magically one day start actively liking education. They're still the same exact disaffected, politically neutral dipshits they've always been. They just fucking love Trump. That's it. And we have seen this born out in all kinds of ways already. From the 2022 midterms, which was supposed to be this gigantic red wave that turned out to be mostly a wash with maybe a small win in the Senate for Democrats - to the 2024 governors races that mostly went toward Democrats even in states that swung massively for Trump - to the special race in Iowa that just happened where a Democrat flipped a seat in a county that voted +11 points for Trump. Red voters don't give a shit about anyone else. MAGA will literally walk into a voting booth, vote for Trump, and then just fuck off and not vote for any other downline candidate. If Trump isn't on the ticket, they don't give a damn. The lesson for us liberals isn't "We must defeat every red incumbent" although yes obviously I'm for that. No, the lesson is "Cut off the head, and the snake dies".
