I finally released the v2.2 software for CubeSatSim, the AMSAT CubeSat Simulator. This release was way too much work. It had too many bug fixes and new features. I need to push releases more frequently, as testing took forever and I kept finding bugs.

I’m very happy with the release. Combined with having more CubeSatSim Lites available, it is an important step for the project!

One issue you may run into with another sound card is the audio level. We use the receiver audio directly from the FM transceiver module without an audio amplifier. This particular one had a high enough gain that one wasn’t needed. Other sound cards I tried needed an extra amplifier.

Keep me posted.

I have suggestions on how to troubleshoot or add an amp.

@tom Glad you are enjoying the #CubeSatSim! I’m not aware of a general BPSK decoder, although I’m sure you could make one with #GnuRadio. I have an experimental BPSK decoder for the FunCube mode which runs on the Raspberry Pi with the FCD FunCube Dongle if you want to try that out. To try the FunCube mode on the CubeSatSim you’d need to update the software to v2.1. See https://CubeSatSim.org/code for details.
