Coming back from holidays in Scotland (๐) I wonder what is the best way to organize photographs in albums, edit them, maybe comment them and share them online with chosen people?
(in a private and controlled way, no AI training of any kind)
#PhotoSharing #PhotoSoftware (any other relevant hashtags?)
Edit: I do not have my own server and do not wish to setup one... and I am using Win10
Edit 2: what about #Cryptee (https://crypt.ee/) - does it allow sharing of specific folders / albums with people of our choice?
i'm trying to be more and more conscious of where the things i'm using are made. in other words, i'm trying to use less and less usa based products.
like i'm using #duckduckgo and that's us based and the results are quite frankly hit or miss. the best search engine i've ever tried is by far #kagi. i had to pay for it and i tried it when it was still in early access, but it was great. but their ai stuff and the fact that there was some drama with the founder a while back shook my trust and they're us based. i do kinda miss it.
now i am using #startpage which uses a google based result which is meh but they are not a us based company. but they are still dependent on one. i'm thinking about trying out #qwant again. i don't know how they are privacy-wise for a search engine, they are european, which i trust a lot more and they are trying to have their own indexing.
there are great services out there that are european based like #mullvad vpn is great, #cryptee is amazing, but search engines are complicated...

@hardleft @Em0nM4stodon @jonah @privacyguides best practices for anonymous cloud is something like #cryptee which you can access entirely through a browser.
Or something like #nextcloud and #headscale on a secure(yes I know there's no such thing) server, but that's outside the scope of mobile privacy for protesters.

How does Cryptee keep its platform, a privacy-preserving photo and notes Progressive Web App, insulated from Big Tech?
What did they do when Apple tried to remove Progressive Web Apps across the EU with just three weeks' notice, forcing them to fight to save the company, employees, and customers?
And how do you build a piano thatโs unlike any other?
