My latest teabreak project at work. 4 ply linen yarn with a 2.75 hook and winging the pattern. I thought I had another ball of mustard, so the different colours one side is a happy mistake! Couldn't bear to frog it and had 5 colours to choose from.

I haven't been feeling much inspiration lately so I've just been crocheting whatever comes to mind. I've also been studying at YouTube University (heh), and I think I've discovered my new comfort stitch. No clue if it has a name, but it's a two row repeat of HDC TOG and FPSC. I've found the end result to be a nice thick material that is squishy and warm enough for scarves while also being textured enough on both sides for dishcloths! 🥰

More tales of the surprise yarns. I'm usually drawn to fingering weight or sockyarn, so working with anything heavier and even bulky is always a bit new to me. That's why for the bottom two scarfs, I didn't use a pattern but kept it simple.

When I first started to crochet about five/six years ago, I had no clue about the different wool and yarn that is out there. Or how and when to use what. Or even what I liked. And I was really a bit overwhelmed. There was this small online shop in my country run by a very nice lady and she would occassionally offer Surprise Yarn Boxes at a discounted price. And this is how I learned about different yarns. I didn't have to choose for myself and get overwhelmed, I just received a box with random yarns. And my adventure was then to find what to make with it, learn about the fibers, discover what I like. Pictured are four of these surprise yarn projects.
